Magic: The Gathering + My daughter = Fantastic

Well, it seems as usual things don't go as planned.  No posts here in forever, so hopefully this will get me motivated to actually put things up here.

I played a tiny bit of Magic: The Gathering when it first came out.  It was a fun game, but I was playing 40K, Epic, Blood Bowl.. lots of other things that just kept my interest away from Magic.  I will point you to a post that I made on Reddit about how I got dragged back into Magic by my 7 year old daughter.... Take your time to read it, I promise to wait.

Reddit Post

So as you can see, that post was 19 days ago and there have been some small updates.  We have acquired a few more cards.  We have played a lot of games against each other, which has been a blast.  She woke me up last Saturday super excited that she had built me a deck and wasn't going to tell me what was in it, I just had to play.  It has been a lot of fun.

So this Friday is the first Friday Night Magic at our local game shop that I will be able to attend.  My daughter doesn't think she is quite ready to play strangers in a competitive environment yet, so we are going to go down as a team.  She is going to be my coach and I will do the actual playing.  So with this in mind I started looking at a way to get into some kind of a competitive deck that I could build quickly off what I had at hand.  That search led me here.....

Dirt Cheap Dirty Red

I had a lot of those cards already, so I went about trying to get the last couple cards I needed.  Two days before we are to play, my daughter and I are talking and she drops this bomb.."I really think we should play a White/Blue deck daddy instead of that red."  Well then that does change things doesn't it?  Well then, lets put together a bunch of cards that we have laying around and see what we can come up with shall we?  And the results...

So it seems this Friday should be a lot of fun.  My first Friday Night Magic and we get to see how this Budget Azorius works out for us.  Wish me luck.
